Things to do at Diavolezza
Hiking
You and your family can enjoy a short and rocky hike of just around 30 minutes. It leads to a picturesque picnic and grill spot on the Sass Queder. You can either carry your own picnic and grill material or else rent the fire making kit from the restaurant at the top or from the kiosk at Diavolezza summit station. The kit includes wood and firelighters, a selection of meats, sauces, salads, bread, dessert and fruit.
Climbing Trail
If you are adventurous, you can do the climbing trail. You can spend the night at the Berghaus on Diavolezza and then set off the next morning for to climb to Piz Palu which is considered by many as one of the greatest treasures in the Alps.
Virtual Reality Cinema
Put on the virtual reality headset (free of cost) and explore the snow-covered mountains, experience skiing activities and have a blast at the Funpark. The 360° video will place you right at the centre of some great action and will enable you to choose the view of your choice
Snow Climb Point
This is one of their special highlights. The guests can touch and play in this 5m thick snowfield at any time of the year.
Devil’s Ride
This is the mountain’s latest attraction. You can experience the thrill of sliding down the 80m long sledging snow and then take the lift back up again. This activity is valid only during May as this is a skiing mountain and the season ends in May.
Open Air Hot Tub
Spoil yourself after an adventurous day in the mountains with a Jacuzzi experience.
Soak yourself in Europe’s highest altitude open-air hot tub with a glass of champagne and gaze at the amazing vistas that stretch out before you. The Jacuzzi is situated on the sun terrace of the Berghaus Diavolezza mountain hotel and offers stunning alpine views of the snowy mountain peaks and the amazing glaciers of Bernina massif as well as the Piz Palü.
Remember to pre-book your hot tub since it is very sought after.
How to reach Diavolezza
Just a 20 minute train ride from St. Moritz to Bernina Diavolezza train station. From there the cable car station is just 100m away. The cable car runs every 20 mins and takes you to the summit in just 10 minutes
Restaurant at Diavolezza
Just next to the cable car is the Bellavista Panaroma Restaurant. This restaurant with a panoramic terrace serves authentic local Swiss food. This restaurant has a capacity to accommodate 300 persons.
Additional Information
- You can combine the Diavolezza mountain excursion with panaromic trains like the Bernina Express and the Glacier Express trains.
- There is a facility for over night stays at Berghaus Diavolezza where they offer Hotel class Double Rooms, multi-bed rooms and bunk style accommodations.
- Swiss travel pass is not valid to go to the top of this mountain.
