About Diavolezza

Diavolezza also known as the “She-Mountain” is renowned for its spectacular views over the eternal ice. Legend has it that there was a she – devil who stayed in these mountains and enticed young suitors who never returned again after following her shadow.

Diavolezza is located at an altitude of 2,978m between Munt Pers and Piz Trovat. From the top, one can see the highest peaks of the Eastern Alps: the Piz Bernina (situated 4,049m above sea level). This is simply a divine place to just lay back and absorb the fabulous views of Mother Nature. Of course, you can decide on how lazy or active you want your visit to be.

Things to do at Diavolezza

You and your family can enjoy a short and rocky hike of just around 30 minutes. It leads to a picturesque picnic and grill spot on the Sass Queder. You can either carry your own picnic and grill material or else rent the fire making kit from the restaurant at the top or from the kiosk at Diavolezza summit station. The kit includes wood and firelighters, a selection of meats, sauces, salads, bread, dessert and fruit.

If you are adventurous, you can do the climbing trail. You can spend the night at the Berghaus on Diavolezza and then set off the next morning for to climb to Piz Palu which is considered by many as one of the greatest treasures in the Alps.

Put on the virtual reality headset (free of cost) and explore the snow-covered mountains, experience skiing activities and have a blast at the Funpark. The 360° video will place you right at the centre of some great action and will enable you to choose the view of your choice

This is one of their special highlights. The guests can touch and play in this 5m thick snowfield at any time of the year.

Things to do

You can spend the night at the Berghaus and get closer to the starry night sky than almost anywhere else. It has a jacuzzi with an unobstructed view of Piz Palü, Piz Bernina and the glaciers. Or you can just have a snack on the sun terrace of the Berghaus and enjoy the view of the mountain scenery – this what relaxation is all about.

The hill of snow by Diavolezza! The backdrop of Piz Palü, Piz Bellavista and Piz Bernina makes Snow Climb point the perfect snap stop.

This VR tour teaches visitors about the connections between climate change, glacier development and water balance. There are four tours to choose from, each with a different topic.

In this VR Room at the mountain station, you can experience these adventures in comfort and without danger. The 360° video puts you at the heart of the action and allows you to see everything going on around you. The film lasts 6.5 minutes and lets you experience exceptional mountain views.

This two-hour trail takes you on a hike that passes through five different discovery points, each of which covers an aspect of how the Pers Glacier and the Morteratsch Glacier have been changing. 

A guided hike takes you to Piz Palü, the Cambrena gaps and the Pers Glacier, and provides fantastic views of the high Alpine landscape.

You can see the emerald-green sparkle of Lej da Diavolezza from miles away. Only the hardiest of people swim here, but the lake is nevertheless a beautiful, idyllic place to stop for a while. The path along the ski slope (until Lej da Diavolezza) is more suitable for those who are less sure-footed

The run on the Pers Glacier and Morteratsch Glacier takes you past Piz Palü and Bernina to Morteratsch. Magnificent mountains will tower above you as you descend. Unlike other, “smoothed out” glacier skiing areas, this run is not groomed, so it provides an authentic snow sports experience.

(CHF 35 per person) Soak yourself in Europe’s highest altitude open-air hot tub with a glass of champagne and gaze at the amazing vistas that stretch out before you. The Jacuzzi is situated on the sun terrace of the Berghaus Diavolezza mountain hotel and offers stunning alpine views of the snowy mountain peaks and the amazing glaciers of Bernina massif as well as the Piz Palü.
